Matilda Fay (Pfister) Howell

Matilda Fay Howell, age 92, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Mercer County Hospital in Coldwater. She was born in Paulding County, Ohio on February 4, 1928 to the late Eli and Emma (Gerber) Pfister. On October 24, 1947, she married Eugene W. Howell, he preceded her in death on July 8, 2009.

Surviving are a daughter Suzanne Miller of Celina and a son and daughter-in-law Steve and Phyllis Howell of Bluffton, IN, four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, brother John Pfister and sister Pauline Baxter. Preceding her in death were a son-in-law Glen Miller Jr., a grandson, brother Elmer Pfister, three sisters Sophia Pfister, Marie Marten, and Louise Hierholzer.

She was a graduate of Rockford High School, a member of Mt. Tabor Church of God in Celina, and retired from Mersman Brothers after 26 years of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Steven Howell and Rev. Amee Paparella officiating. Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday before the service. Attendees are required to wear masks, practice social distancing, and follow the COVID-19 guidelines established by Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.
