Margaret Catherine (Merkle) Baker

Margaret C. Baker, age 92 of St. Marys, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 31, 1927 in Mercer County to the late Lewis and Bertha (Parker) Merkle. On April 15, 1951 she married Lloyd Charles Baker, who died November 10, 1985. Survivors include her three children Cathy (John) Schaadt of Decatur, IN, Dwight (Aphakorn) Baker of College Station, TX, Duane (Barbara) Baker of Powell, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 great-great granddaughters and her sister-in-law Barbara Merkle of Van Wert. Margaret was preceded in death by two brothers and sister-in-law Lewis (Jennie) Merkle Jr. David Merkle and three sisters and brothers-in-law Marie Lessner, Martha (Ralph) Pudsey, Olga (Ralph) Nave. Margaret owned and operated the Celina Engine Service in Celina, with her husband Lloyd. She was also employed in the banking and booking field in the Celina area for years. She enjoyed volunteering at Celina Public Schools the Churches she attended, the hospital gift shop and lately at the Otterbein Senior Life Community. Margaret's memorial service has been POSTPONED DUE TO NATIONAL PANDEMIC.  Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lake Hospice c/o JTD Hospital Foundation 200 St. Clair St., St. Marys, Ohio 45885.
