Kenneth Werling Obituary

Kenneth B. Werling, age 84, of Celina, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at his residence in Celina, with his family.  He was born on March 23, 1938 in Cranberry, Ohio to the late Carl J. and Eleanora J. (Bruening) Werling.  On Aug. 23, 1958 he married Betty Stammen, who survives living in Celina.  He is also survived by his five children; Deb Werling of Celina, Cindy Werling of Hilliard, Rick (Kim) Werling of Celina, Brenda (David) Littlefield of Anna and Tammy (Gregg) Miller of West Mansfield, thirteen grandchildren; Mike Grunden, Chris Grunden, Katie (David) Denny, Sharee (Ian) Quick, Miranda (Mitchell) Hawkins, Josiah Werling, Courtney Moriarty, Andrew Moriarty, Courtney Littlefield, Ashley Littlefield, Mackensie Littlefield, Kyle (Lydia) Miller, Kristy Miller, six great grandchildren; James Denny, Mara Denny, Bjor Thobe, Ruby Adams, Audrey Quick, Solomon Quick.  He is survived by his brother Bill Werling of Brookville, and two sisters and brother-in-law Anita Koester of Coldwater and Doris (Larry) Salm of Coldwater.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sisters-in-law Lavern Carl “L.C.” (Mary Jean) Werling, Barb Werling and his brother-in-law Charles Koester.

Kenneth graduated from the St. Henry High School with the Class of 1956.  Then he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps until 1958.  He owned and operated Ken’s Carry Out and Ken’s Rentals.  He was a Lifetime member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, a life member of the Celina V.F.W.  Post #5713, a Life member of the N.R.A., the Celina Moose Lodge #1473, the Celina Eagles Arie #1291, a member of the Grand Slam Club North American Big Game Animals, all 29, the North American Sheep Hunter Association Grand Slam Club assigned him #966 and World Slam National Wild Turkey Federation.  He loved his family and enjoyed working, traveling and hunting.  Kenneth was a conservationist, he managed natural Habitat and Wetlands in Mercer County.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Robert Muhlenkamp officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the Celina V. F. W. and the Celina American Legion.  Friends may call from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m on Sunday June 12, 2022 and from 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. on Monday morning at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. In Lieu of flowers and Wind Chimes Kenneth requested memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
