Obituary

Sonny Dale Mullins, age 71 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at home with his family at his bedside. He was born the son of Paris and Opal (Williamson) Mullins in Feds Creek Dicks Fork, Ky on November 26, 1954. On September 25, 1975 he married Elizabeth Stauffer, who survives living at their residence in Celina. Sonny was survived by five children; Mitchell Mullins, Shane Mullins, Kirk (Vicki) Mullins, Brandon L. (Kelly) Mullins and Nikole Mullins all of Celina. He leaves behind fifteen grandchildren he adored; Kailyn Brewer, Gage Mullins, Brooklyn Johnson, Nathan, McKayla, Taylor Mullins, Brayden, Ian, Tobey, Aubree Mullins, Stephen, Jordan, Marissa, Jaden Abby, Piper Depweg. His surviving sibling are; Geri Watt of Celina Sharon (Roy) Orick of Celina, Danny (Kathy) Mullins of Celina Charles (Carol) Mullins of Deltona, FL, Angie "Jean" (Tom) Wicker of St. Marys, Rhonda Caudill of Celina, Sherri (Scott) Feister of Celina, Randy Mullins of Celina.

In addition to his parents Sonny was preceded in death by his sister Marietta "Mary" Oakman, brother and sister-in-law Billy (Gladys) Mullins, his brother-in-law Jim Watt and his sister-in-law Garnet Mullins.

His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them-from the everyday moments to the special memories they created together. He was always there to cheer them on, share a laugh, lend a helping hand, and simply enjoy being together. He also had a passion for working on cars and took great pride in his body work. He never knew a stranger; there was always room for one more. His heart, generosity, and ability to make everyone feel loved and welcome will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Memorial services for Sonny will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Family and Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. before his memorial service at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Immediately following Sonny's memorial service a continued celebration of Sonny's life will be held at Sonny and Son's Body Shop 6140 US-27 in Celina. A private family interment of Sonny's ashes will be held at a later date in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
