Hans Theodor Rehrmann, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at his residence in Celina, with his family. He was born the son of the late Anton Franz and Maria Karoline (Schmidt) Rehrmann in Neuss, Rhineland/Westphalia, Germany on Aug. 6, 1938. On July 10th of 1971 he married Joan Carol Henderson, who survives, living at their residence in Celina. Hans is survived by two sons: Anthony Charles (Caroline Blais) Rehrmann of Sherbrooke, Quebec, and Erik Stefan (Jeremy Stone) Rehrmann of Orlando, Florida; and three grandchildren: Maddox Rehrmann, Alex Rehrmann, Sophie Rehrmann.
In addition to his parents, Hans was preceded in death by his brother Franz Herman Rehrmann and sister Ursula Maria Platz.
Following the end of WWII, he apprenticed to become a Master Bricklayer. Shortly thereafter, his brother, who had previously immigrated to the United States, sponsored him to come to the US. Following that, he joined the US Air Force and proudly served his country for twenty years (1959 - 1979), including two tours in the Vietnam War, and retired from Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado as a Master Sergeant. Building upon his computer skills he learned in military service, he became a computer programmer at the Celina Group Insurance Company in Celina, Ohio.
Hans was a Charter member of the Celina chapter of Kiwanis International, and was a member of the Air Force Association, Adventure Cycling Association, ACLU, Celina American Legion Post #210, US Wildlife Federation and the Celina Moose Lodge #1473.
He had a passion for Cycling, traveling cross-country solo, and cherished his family deeply. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held for Hans, on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 1:00p.m. until 3:00p.m. at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Military Honors will be conducted by the Celina American Legion and Celina V. F. W. following the visitation at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Celina Kiwanis Club or to EverHeart Hospice. Condolences may be shared with the Rehrmann family on-line at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
