Eleanor Ann "Ellie" Austin, age 93 of Celina, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Rockford. She was born the daughter of the late Ralph H. and Dora A. (Hill) Steele in Saginaw, Michigan on April 30, 1933.

Ellie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Corinne A. Austin of Bellingham, WA, Catherine A. (Robert) Yaney of Celina, Caroline A. (Elliot) Swaney of Sumas, WA, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and her brother Michael Steele of Saginaw, MI.

In addition to her parents Ellie was preceded in death by the father of her children Philip C. Austin Sr., son Philip C. Austin Jr., two daughters Caren Austin, Christine Austin, her brother Robert Steele and sister-in-law Jan Steele.

Ellie graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1951. She was formerly employed at Armco Steel Ambridge, PA and retired from Allegheny Valley Schools in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.

She enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles

A Private Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Craig Flack officiating. Interment will follow in the columbarium at the North Grove Cemetery in Celina. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice.
